Plympton, Massachusetts is located
Southeastern Massachusetts, bordered by Pembroke on the north, Kingston on the
east, Carver on the south, and Middleborough and Halifax on the west. Plympton
is 17 miles southeast of Brockton, 34 miles southeast of Boston, and 210 miles
from New York City. The principal highway is State Route 58, which runs N-S and intersects with
U.S. Route 44 running E-W in neighboring Carver. Commuter rail service to South Station, Boston, will be available in
1996-97, from the Kingston Station, or from the rail station in South
Hanson.
|
| Residents of Plympton say that driving into the center of this Plymouth
County town is like taking a step back into simpler times and they wouldn't
have it any other way. Two hundred year old houses share space on Route
58, the main street, with a gas station, a farm stand, a bank, a restaurant
and a graveyard where the passing years have tilted the ancient slate
headstones to eerie angles. |
